Full ux/ui & creative direction for eventro event discovery platform

The Challenge

As an internal side project at EKM we set about creating a user-centered event discovery platform, the difference between Eventro and other event apps at the time was it had a focus on social and leisure events as well as educational and work events. Unfortunately, due to staff leaving and internal resource-reallocation, the project was halted.

The Solution

Working alongside the research, UI and development team my team set about creating a full user journey, developing a strong brand and creating collateral for outside of the web-app such as emails, marketing material and branded collateral.

sketching & low fidelity wireframes

Working closely with the researchers and the competitor and user research they had compiled we set about defining the requirements of the app, and then started with some early app sketches to map out the full app flow and overall layout, once these had approval from all stakeholders and were amended in places we moved onto wireframing and lo-fidelity prototyping.

lo-fidelity prototyping

Once all the sketches had been converted into full low-fidelity wireframes for both mobile and desktop I set about adding these into the prototype tool Marvel app to show the full workings and layout of the web app. As soon as these were tested and approved internally as well as externally we moved onto hi-fidelity prototyping to get the design ready to handover to development.

hi-fidelity prototyping

After the lo-fidelity proofs had been user-tested and refined we moved straight onto the hi-fidelity proofs and prototyping for further user testing.

During the exploration for the app the Apple Watch was released, so we went back to the drawing board and mocked up some user-centered, notification based prototypes, to notify users of events they were near, or had expressed interest in.

Desktop web application ux design

Although Eventro set out to be a mobile-first application, the web-app was fully responsive and worked at all resolutions, from desktop to tablet to mobile. Each device went through vigorous testing.

email exploration

The journey with Eventro didn’t stop within the web app, we set about creating a series of emails, from welcome to event recommendations and reminders to continue the user’s journey outside of the app.

print & brand collateral

Various pieces of branded and print collateral were created as well as early marketing exploration. Unfortunately as mentioned above the app was halted due to internal budget reallocation meaning Eventro never saw the light of day.
