With over 7.5 years of commercial experience in spearheading the creative direction and user experience for the UK’s largest ecommerce provider, EKM.com. Creating results driven, engaging and effective online experiences within EKM to directly impact revenue, reduce churn, and address back-end usability problems to aid customer satisfaction and retention. My creative problem-solving approach has enabled EKM to remain at the forefront of the UK ecommerce provider industry.

Leading the in house team of designers at EKM and working closely with multiple departments from marketing, to research, to development has given me the experience needed to take a user-focused, analytical approach to producing creative solutions to meet business objectives and goals.

I am competent in all aspects of the design process, from ideation to front end development – with 9 years experience in total, some of which has been spent working on a freelance or consultancy basis for small to large businesses including leading 3D scanning company, Fuel3D, these projects have enabled me to further my skill set by working with businesses within different sectors from Fintech to hospitality, with varying business objectives and design problems to solve.

ekm.com, 2011 - present

Creative lead - feb 2015 to present

Creative lead for the UK’s largest and most popular eCommerce platform EKM, responsible for the user experience and creative direction of the company, delivering new, and improving existing online experiences and functionality, and pioneering digital advertising campaigns to coincide with UX projects. Leading not only the design and creative direction, but the front end development to maintain high-quality coding standards, as well as mentoring and guiding a team of designers, marketers, and researchers to improve all aspects of user experience and creative direction for EKM.com.

  • Led the creative direction and UX strategy for EKM.com including laying down a full conversion rate optimisation and website improvement strategy. With continual analysis, optimisation and testing via the use of analytics, user feedback A/B testing and visitor behaviour analysis, myself and my team are responsible for consistent signup growth (90% monthly signup growth since 2016), increasing new monthly recurring signup revenue (20% increase in MRR in 2018 alone) and reducing the EKM customer CPA (50% overall decrease since 2016).
  • Led the complete overhaul of the EKM sign-up flow to be more user friendly and fully mobile optimised, the project included wire-framing, high fidelity prototyping, various stages of user testing and refinement and working with the EKM development team to get the project integrated. It was launched at the end of June 2018 and since it’s fruition has led to a 20% overall increase in signup numbers and a 105% increase in mobile signups.
  • Led the formulation of a brand new offering to re-position EKM as a more enterprise-level solution with EKM Pro, leading the creative direction, content strategy and UX design as well as identifying marketing and sales opportunities upon launch.
  • Worked with the marketing team to devise a full creative digital advertising strategy for social media and Googles display network based on research, data and website performance, this saw social media and remarketing signups increase by over 200% since 2016 as we refined the advertising collateral as well as the UX of the landing pages.
  • Led the project to create the EKM Support Centre, to provide instantaneous, easy to navigate support to thousands of EKM shop owners, which in turn contributed to an uplift in Customer Satisfaction (NPS) and the EKM Trustpilot score as well as reducing the strain on the EKM support team.
  • Creation, enforcement, and maintenance of EKM brand standards across all channels from digital, to social to print – Increasing brand recognition, customer experience and investment into the EKM brand.
  • Leading the creative direction on partner campaigns working to tight deadlines with fintech companies in particular including Klarna and Worldpay.
  • I often work above and beyond my role as the EKM.com Creative Lead, branching away from the EKM.com website and marketing and getting involved in the back-end product functionality, providing innovative, data drove solutions to other teams, these include but are not limited to: re-imagining the EKM cancellation process to aid retention efforts, an innovative intelligent newsfeed proposal to allow customers to make more informed decisions, and regularly being involved in providing direction and feedback to the UI designers, theme designers and customer-facing designers.

Senior Web Designer - Feb 2014 to Feb 2015

Working as part of the marketing team I was responsible for landing page design for web and mobile on the EKM front end website, branding and promotional material, and liaising with our many partners and integrations to produce exciting and engaging content and pages – including but not limited to Klarna, Paypal, Worldpay, Amazon Payments and Trustpilot.

Web Designer - Feb 2014 to Feb 2015

Designed high impact user-centered eCommerce websites, with intuitive navigation and powerful brand identities, resulting in an increase in conversions and turnover, and increasing customer satisfaction. I designed over 50+ websites, including but not limited to Michelin Travel, Scitec Supplements, and LindyBop.
